They met at a party where a strange card game determined who took the next questionable shot. Ace in hand (technically the lowest card?), Seth lost — or maybe he won. Many house parties and late-night philosophical debates followed. Friendship was born, but nothing more… yet.
Over the following years they chatted here and there, diving deep into human behavior, free will vs. determinism, and the weird ways we all try to make sense of life. The conversations were smart, strange, and short-lived… until they stopped altogether.
Out of the blue, Kristen texted Seth. She needed a practice student for her yoga teaching — and Seth, always up for a challenge, said yes. He didn't expect the yoga to kick his butt (which it did), nor that it would rekindle their conversations.
While Seth traveled for work, Kristen crafted a scavenger hunt to keep him entertained on the road. Thoughtful, playful, and totally unexpected — it marked the start of something different. They started showing up for each other in small but powerful ways. One night, Seth even stayed up sewing a towel cape when asked to "save the day" and help make sure Kristen made her flight the next day.
They celebrated Kristen’s yoga graduation with a trip to Sedona — hiking, kava, tarot readings, float tanks, and all. Something changed that weekend. Seth knew. Kristen… almost knew.
Kristen was in grad school, working full time, and had no time for love. Seth, however, was all in — showing up with unwavering patience, kindness, and just the right amount of persistence. Kristen held her ground... until she didn’t.
Seth planned to ask Kristen out officially. Kristen beat him to it — on Valentine’s Day of all days. Cliché? Maybe. Perfect? Absolutely.
Soon after, Kristen moved in. Marriage wasn't much of a topic discussed — they were busy building a home and life. Every day, they challenge each other to grow, support each other’s dreams, and laugh at their weirdness together.
To celebrate two years, they planned a last-minute trip to Universal Studios. The morning was rainy, cold, and hangry — far from ideal. But later, in the quiet of their hotel room, Seth got down on one knee, heart pounding. No fancy moment. Just the real one.
And now we’re here, officially engaged. Waiting to get married on the beach in Mexico — with at least a few of the people who’ve shaped our story.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts.
